Freebird Direct — 4th June 2016 — Izzu, Ridzuan, Raouf
1st pitch (6a): Nice slab with 50–50 protection. Sketchy move about 8 m from the ground. Easy traverse to the anchor.
2nd pitch (5c): We go up straight into the right overhang section and traverse left. ⚠ USE LONG SLINGS. There’s a better belay stance on the lower left.
3rd pitch (5): Easy section with pockets / slabby roots and flaring crack after minimal pro. Creative placements.
4th pitch (5c): TRAVERSE EXACTLY ON THE LOOSE SLAB. Head towards the right.
5th pitch (6a): We decided to go direct into the dyno crack, slightly more challenging but better pro. Around 40 m.
6th pitch (6b): going up direct on the line above R5 straight up to summit. Around 20 m.
Overall, a nice route for slab aficionados along with beautiful rock quality and OK runouts. Special thanks to Pak Tam and Uncle Sam for the place and food. Credit to B.V., Vertical Adventures and Equipments and those who made it possible.
