A perfect weekend adventure escape from city life in Singapore. A tight schedule, where only perfect planning, great support from Tam and the Simukut Hillview staff, generous weather and persistence allowed us to complete the objective successfully. After a delayed ferry, a late 1 pm arrival in Mukut meant we had a race against daylight to make it to the top before nightfall.
Perfect rock, very safe bolting, only one major shower on route, a well-marked trail, meant that we were able to reach the top by 5 pm. 2 hours of straightforward abseiling saw us back at the base at 10 pm and back at Simukut at midnight. Exhausted but with a huge smile on our faces. This route and experience has left us with a big urge to come back very soon for more.
Thanks to the visionary first ascentionists, the guys doing the re-bolting, and to everyone maintaining the trail. Everyone who follows, enjoy, this is an outstanding route!
